Evan is 5 months old today! He is dressed in his football outfit and is all ready for the Superbowl tonight! He was happy as a clam this morning when I was taking his picture!

We have discovered that Evan is really not a big fan of peas (he takes after his mommy there!). He spits them out at me and makes the funniest face when I try to give them to him. We are going to try one more time today, but if he doesnt eat them its on to carrots!

Evan had his first taste of veggies today! The doctor recommended that we start with vegetables before fruit. She said that once they taste fruit, they dont always want the vegetables. Well, Evan LOVED the sweet potatoes! When I opened the container I said there was no way he was going to finish it because there was a lot in there. Well he ate all but 2 bites!! Now some of that went up his nose and on his mommy, but he did eat most of it. Here is our big boy eating his veggies!

We bought Evan a surfboard a while back to use for his tummy time. At first he would kind of just flop on it because he wasn’t really strong enough. Well now he is getting really strong and he can really hold his head up when he uses it. If he kicks his legs he spins around in circles and it makes his tummy time a little bit more fun (even though he still doesn’t like it at all).

One of Evan’s favorite toys is his “jiggly frog”. When you pull on the frog he shakes and jiggles. Evan also enjoys eating him. Who knows, maybe one day he will like frog legs!

Evan is starting to teethe (or so we think). He has been putting everything he can into his mouth. Whether it is his toys, his bib, his fingers, our fingers, or his car seat straps, he finds a way to get it into his mouth. Well tonight he figured out how to get his feet into his mouth! He would stick his foot in there and start sucking on his toes. It was so funny that I started laughing at him. Well as soon as he saw me laughing he would start smiling and giggling at me. I dont have any pictures because I was having too much fun watching him. I will try to take some soon so everyone can see them.

Evan has rolled from his back to his belly twice today! He has been close many other times, but he cant always get his arm out from underneath him. When he is on his belly he wants to roll onto his back (he doesnt like his tummy time!) but he doesnt quite have that one down yet!

Matt and I were going to go out this weekend and buy Evan a jumperoo. He always kicks his legs and loves to stand with us. My friend Kathleen, who I used to babysit for, happened to call the other night and said that she had a bunch of baby stuff for us. Well one of the things that she had for us was a jumperoo! We tried it out this morning and Evan loves it! Thanks so much Kathleen!!

Evan can now hold his head up on his own! We put him in his Bumbo seat today and he loved it. I think he likes to see things from a different point of view.
